Catching up on My Life.

Hi, to all my friends in my new world, still catching up Short and Sweet.

Xmas and New Year;
Dave and Ann Marshall in Dunstable with little Teddy the dog, he flies through the air and doesn't touch the ground.
We flew around Dunstable Downs, flying high into the sky.
The stories were strong and powerful, it gives you another path to take.

 Dave loved to talk, just like me ;-)

When we got to the top of the Downs it reminded us of times gone bye.

The shadows having a great conversation.

The sun shone on our perfect day.

The star arrived that day.

I made it there and back with my stick, we stick together.

Little Teddy flies through the air and the puddle.

My friend from a long time ago, Loz, Loraine Burgess arrived for our get together, a superb evening.

I was doggy talking!

Teddy and I kept each other company.

Teddy listened to me! I hope! 

JANUARY 2013

13 is supposed to be an unlucky number; but to me, it feels like a good NEW YEAR!
What great sights to see, the Spiral, Black & White buildings, the immence amount of sights.
It has been an education to keep my eyes open in this world, I feel that before this sadness happened to me, that I was stuck in a crowd with blinkers on my eyes which hid what had been happening in the world around me. I never knew that a Stroke was so serious.

I thought a Stroke was an elderly cold...................Achoooooo!

The Spire.

The brain can be a bit lazy sometimes and forget some names, so here goes;
Louise, Matt, Neal so far, brain gone fuzzy. Oops!
Give me 2 minutes and I'll be back on line here!
I look out for the Spire every day,
When I see the Spire, I know what direction to take, it's my Map.
The architectural buildings are more precise to my brain as a map.

I wonder who created this great architectural creation in Chesterfield, it's as if The Spire is the centre of life here, how many times a day is it being clicked by the cameras, who knows!

Well, I'm quickly throwing in a wee story from yesterday..................

Tuesday 18th June 2013

Yesterday, I was in The Chesterfield Hospital to be a volunteer for HEADWAY North Derbyshire.
This has been my third visit with Headway, I love to stand there with my moving legs and tongue.
I wear my HEADWAY T-Shirt with PRIDE!
Headway is my best friend, it has assisted me to all of a sudden, have so much more friends; Brain Injury Friends........ BIF . (I think this may be a word made by me!)
I stood at the Tombola Stand with the tickets in one hand and the Poetry Book in the other.
I smile the biggest smile to all the visiting guests; sometimes life can be sad or very happy, that would have been my visiting guests.........sad.......then HAPPY!
Our team was the lovely Neal, Mary, Jean and myself.
Neal has a great wealth of knowledge on the story of the Headway Poetry Book, a lovely lady wrote her poems for Headway as she has a great connection with this Charity. Well Done Lady.
As we came to our end of the day, (we had nothing left to sell!) the purse became heavier; THANX ALL!
It's always a great joy when we leave empty of gifts, that's a good job done.
As the three left the building I stayed behind to enquire at the reception desk.
I enquired about......"a lady about this high with MATRON on her blue dress! Any idea!"
This receptionist pointed me over to another room, her left arm pointing, so I went over to the right hand side and seen another room with a disabled pressing sign for the door to open.
The door opened and I walked through, the secretary was on the phone but she smiled at me.
I stood there and waited.
Suddenly; through another door a lady came out and asked me if she could assist me with anything.
Well; I started to tell her about the "Lady this high, MATRON on her dress"
She about turned and walked through the doorway where she came from.
I followed and said "Can I follow you!"
I did anyway!
Who did I see.......................................................!
That lady who was "yon high" was right in front of me!
I thought that I was going to cry but I never, it was a great meeting after how many weeks.......!
She was right next to me and she still had MATRON on the blue dress.
We started talking......Oops!........I talked a lot.
I stood in the room with my back to the corner so that I could see them all in my vision.
This was amazing!
I FOUND;
Dawn Handley, Matron.
She had a similar haemorrhage in 1990, 23 years ago, she has chosen to work in the medical area.
I'm Gobsmacked; she has been a LUCKY LADY.
Dawn was so lucky that she never had any after effects, I was lucky, I seem to have gotten them ALL!
Mr Batterby looked after her in the Hallamshire Hospital in 1990, I wonder if he's still there?

Dear Mr Patel,

I'm just wondering!!!!
Did you work under Mr Batterby, is he still there; or has he retired!
I would like to see him if he's still here!
You know what I'm like......pushy Eh!

As I was telling the story to them, one of the pc's was busy clicking away then a big smile appeared.
"AH!" She said, in the corner, "I take it, this is Mr Patel!"
"AHhhhhhh!" I said, and we all moved over to the computer.
WoW, I hope they have a good story so far.
"I'll pop back soon to see you all, OK!"

My New Life.

Here I start again!

The blob/blog that I have published was rather wishy/washy as I look at it again.
Woopsadaisy!
Here is my new start to my new Life!
Yesterday, I went to join The Derbyshire Voice, they are a Voice for sure!
I travelled to Matlock with my friends, Jez and Simon.
I was talking to the CEO of The Derbyshire Voice.
I was offered a bunch of cards, I picked one; all the cards had different comments printed on the back of them, my card said "Speak your truth even if your voice shakes"
I listened to what was being said to all at the meeting, I was very impressed by the speakers.
It makes you THINK!
I stood up at the back of the room with my hand up in the air, I certainly was not looking for fresh air from under my arm pits, no!............ I wanted to talk and that I did.
The people who spoke at the meeting was the CEO, from The Derbyshire Voice and a Manager, who provides local mental health services.
I thought.....................................!
Has people been looking at me from a different angle....................a Mental Health way???
The CEO asked me if I'd like to talk, so I did!
I thanked them all for accepting me to their group, I took a deep breath and kept my emotions in control.
I said to them all that when I moved into my Rehabilitation Home on April 23rd 2012, it was a struggle for me, my emotions were all over the place, I was trying to talk correctly but unfortunately I couldn't.
I told them;
"Hi, how are.............hands closed tightly, hands raised up to the shoulders, all I said was.....Shit, Shit, Shit!
Can you imagine how carers and other Brain Injured people were affected by my performance!
I certainly was not a 10 out of 10 act.
It wasn't very nice, people must have thought that I was Mental"
As I said this; a lady called Donna walked across the room and cuddled me in front of all at the meeting.
I was only learning to speak properly, correctly, grammar perfectly.
People have just jumped on the same path as everyone else, not my path!!!
I had a great day with my thoughts and my sights..........Brilliant Day.
